I find social dancing to be a lot of fun and it is very enjoyable to be able to express yourself in creative ways to the different styles of music, as well as experiment with the interactions you have with your partner while doing various movements. Another positive about social dancing is I have met many different and interesting people. Many of these people have now become good friends outside of the dance scene.

I joined Move Your Body in 2013 with the encouragement of my dad. At first, I was nervous as everyone is when they start something new. Through teaching and competing, dance has given me confidence I never thought possible. Now as a crew member I can share my passion for dance and inspire each student to build upon their skills and techniques in a fun social atmosphere.

“Having focused on working and my acting career, it was not until I returned to Move Your Body, that I realised what I have been missing. Not only does dancing provide physical fitness, it also promotes confidence, motivation, reduces stress and is a fantastic way to meet new friends. For me, happiness is on the dance floor. I am so thankful to Jason for allowing me the privilege of being a part of MYB Crew".

Dancing for over 20 years. With winning medals in many team routines, freestyle and dwas events over the years. Accumulating over 30 medals. In comps all over Australia. But most of all I enjoy the MYB family. Whom likewise enjoy teaching new people the joys of music and dance. It’s the biggest buzz. Finding friendships for a life time.

MYB is more than dance classes, there is such a great atmosphere that you just can't help but enjoy meeting new people and making friends who all have a common interest (dance) while at the same time having fun, trying something new and you don't even realise that you're getting in some exercise too.

“Dance is connection. Connection to the music, connection to your partner, connection to your soul. The feeling you get from when you step onto the floor the first time to the end of the last song, that feeling is an exhilarating feeling. It is a feeling of freedom that cannot be explained by words; only experienced.”
